Rep. Mike McIntyre Pushes Through Shallotte Inlet Dredging Program
Capt. Rube McMullan dropped the Kingfish Journal an e-mail over the weekend with "big news" on the Shallotte Inlet dredging program. It appears the inlet will be dredged in January to aid in navigation with the sand deposited on the local beaches as part of a renourishment program. This is going to sound a bit odd, but I'm a newbie to king mackerel fishing. For the past 14 years I've worked in the publishing industry. Recently I tried my hand at king mackerel fishing -- I loved it! So I thought I'd mix publishing and fishing in the form of the Kingfish Journal. So while the publishing biz comes easy, finding that elusive smoker is extremely hard. While I live in the Washington, DC area, my parents and many friends are located in Carolina Beach, NC. I do quite a bit of "trolling" the internet for king-related news and updates. Plus I've developed a great network of sources that supply timely on-the-water/dock intelligence.
